STREET ART FESTIVALS
Community meetings led to Downtown Lynn businesses and residents sharing a desire to get more people walking around the city. To achieve more ‘walkability’ Beyond Walls, a then completely volunteer-driven committee, focused on bringing more public art to the downtown.
In both 2017 and 2018 we facilitated free-to-the-public Mural Festivals with a mix of internationally-renowned artists and artists from neighboring communities. We’re back now for our annual two week arts and culture festival in downtown Lynn.
Through our unique artist selection process, we ensure the murals across Lynn reflect the rich culture and incredible diversity present in the city. Our (now annual) Festival lives on due to key partnerships with local stakeholders and our passionate funders. Each year, the International Union of Painter’s and Allied Trades (IUPAT) DC35 preps, and primes all of our walls, turning them into fresh canvases.
